Managing and executing all electrical and electro-mechanical works in the construction of an extra-high-voltage substation. The role includes managing field teams and subcontractors, working with the design engineers and IECo/NOGA, and meeting strict schedule, quality and safety requirements.
Position details
- Reports to: Project Manager / Project Engineer
- Location: field work, on the construction site
- Scope: full-time, willingness to travel required
Key responsibilities
- Field management: daily management of work teams, coordination of subcontractors and task allocation
- Plan implementation: supervising the works according to the electrical plans, technical specifications and IECo/NOGA guidelines
- High and extra-high voltage installations: supervising the installation of transformers, gas-insulated (GIS) or air-insulated (AIS) switchgear, protection and control systems, energy storage and LV/MV panels
- Safety: strict enforcement of electrical safety procedures, refresher training and risk management
- External coordination: working with the client's supervisors, designers and IECo representatives towards testing, connection and commissioning
Requirements
- Electrician license: certified / master / high-voltage electrician (a practical engineer electrician license is a significant advantage)
- At least two years of experience as a lead electrical works manager in infrastructure, substation or high-voltage projects
- Certifications: work at height, high voltage (advantage)
- High-level reading of complex electrical plans, single-line diagrams and control drawings
- Excellent interpersonal skills, authority, team management and real-time problem solving in the field
